Location: Keppochan Map reference: NN 078 223 Date of Survey: 26 September 1972 Loch level OD: 35.448 m Highest point of crannog OD: 35.848 m Top to bottom of crannog: 1.0 m Overall spread: 17.5 m x 13 m Usable area: ca 14 m x 12 m Description (1972): Very low crannog built on shallow natural area. Many timbers visible at the centre and to the N and E: beams including two forks of trees. Approx three sides of roughly square stone setting on top, the fourth side closed by an area of small stones to the S of centre. Always underwater except for dry years, Crannog 13 was not obviously man-made until up close. No steep-sided stone structure like others in the loch. Only when on the island can you see the timbers set in the surface and the stone settings. | |||
